Doug Kraus

Doug Kraus initially joined Stage Music Pianos in 1993 with a strong background in Music and Physics.  His fascination with pianos was rooted in his love of Music and fueled by his interest in Applied Physics.  Mr. Kraus has used his experiences as a Principal French Hornist and as a Lead Guitarist to his advantage to become a highly trained and skilled piano tuner.  Doug’s additional experience in the realm of Physics has served him very well in his development as a piano rebuilding technician.

Doug has tuned for several luminaries such as Hank Jones of CBS, the late Mistislav Rostropovich, Leon Redbone, Michael Card, Johnny Mathis, Burt Bacharach, Aretha Franklin, The Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and 1991 London Piano Competition Winner Chiharu Sakai Carpenter.  He is currently one of the Concert Technicians for Colgate University and The Stanley Theatre.
