About Us

After receiving his Bachelor of Music in Education and Certificate of Qualification as a Piano Technician from Ithaca College in 1978, Joe Karwacki has spent the past 28 years investigating and researching piano technology and tuning throughout the United States, Canada, and parts of Europe.  Stage Music Piano Co.  is the culmination of that groundwork plus years of experimentation and collaboration since 1989.

Stage Music presently makes its home in downtown Utica inside a renovated two-story brick building that previously sat on the edge of the once famous Erie Canal in 1904. We have a full onsite rebuilding facility to accommodate the most complex repairs.  The on-road service department is “second to none” in delivering prompt, courteous, and professional service to all of Central New York.
